Kate Opalko developed her love for events from her experience in non-profit organizations. Working with a local non-profit after college, Kate found that the best part of her job was planning events that made a difference and brought people together. She planned a multitude of events while working with the non-profit, including golf outings, children’s fundraisers, 5K’s, and a 1,000-person gala. After her experience in the non-profit world, she wanted to extend her event planning skills into social events.
She worked with an event planning company as an intern and learned all of the ins and outs of contracting, vendor managing, and executing weddings from 50 to 300 people. She then landed a job at the famous Drake Hotel in 2017 and grew her event planning career there. At the Drake Hotel, Kate executed over 100 weddings and endless galas and corporate events. Kate’s passion within the industry is wedding planning, so she left the hotel world to focus on her one true love.
