Nadine is a great friend of mine from middle school and high school so I was so honored to be a part of her and Doug’s wedding. Nadine and Doug have one of my favorite “how did you meet” stories! They met at their siblings’ wedding two years before they got engaged – yes, Nadine’s sister is married to Doug’s brother! It was love at first sight.
Nadine and Doug live in California so all of the planning came together in just a few visits to Chicago. Nadine and Doug got married on a perfect summer day in June at Arrowhead Golf Club, much different than the weather we are experiencing right now! Nadine was extremely calm and relaxed all morning. One of my favorite moments from the wedding day was when Nadine and Doug had their first look under the beautiful willow tree at Arrowhead Golf Club.
The ceremony was held outdoors right on the golf course. The ceremony decor included lush peonies in mason jars, a special touch as the peonies were straight from her grandmother’s garden and Nadine carried a beautiful bouquet in blue hydrangeas. Following the service, guests made their way up to the veranda for cocktail hour as we passed a signature cocktail created by the bride and groom.
In the ballroom, the guest tables were covered in navy blue linens with floral including garden roses, spray roses, and hydrangeas in pinks and greens, provided by Jenna at Avant Gardenia. The guests couldn’t help but notice the incredible wedding cake as they entered the room.
It was a beautiful wedding day from start to finish! Thank you Thomas Pham photography for capturing a photo of Nadine and me – so special to be able to share these moments with such great childhood friends. Congratulations Nadine and Doug!
