Casey and Thomas: Glenview Club

We had the pleasure of planning Casey and Thomas’ wedding this past September. We met Casey eight months before the big day and instantly connected with their style and vision for the wedding day. Casey and Thomas selected the charming Glen View Club for their reception and the lovely, quaint Kenilworth Union Church for their ceremony.

The beautiful fall wedding day began with Casey and her bridesmaids getting ready in the adorable Glen View Club locker room. We couldn’t help but notice the incredible relationship Casey and her parents have. Her and her mother were an impeccable planning duo throughout the process and the first look Casey shared with her father on the wedding day was priceless!

This wedding was full of countless special moments that the photos here will illustrate! We had a fabulous vendor team that worked together to create the perfect wedding for Casey and Thomas. The talented Toni Lenzi at Simply Flowers designed the floral and decor to perfection. Soft, pale blooms adorned all of the tables and a variety of Chinese brush pots and candles added that extra special touch. The fabulous Julia Franzosa Photography and Charlie Hilbrant Films captured it all!

After dinner, guests enjoyed dancing under the stars in the stunning clear span tent to music performed by the Chicago Catz band. “His” and “hers” signature cocktails were available all evening long and a delicious s’mores bar was set near the fire pits. It was a wonderful day for Casey and Thomas and we are so lucky to have been a part of their big day!

And, for more from this gorgeous wedding day, here is the highlight film for you to enjoy!

Brandy and Brian: The Langham Hotel

We are so excited to share Brandy and Brian’s wedding on our blog! Brandy and Brian selected the luxury, Langham Hotel, for their ceremony and reception.  The venues neutral tones allowed us to embrace the fall season and incorporate shades of burgundy, champagne, ivory and greens through out the floral, decor and bridesmaid dresses.

Brandy and I share a love for details! We designed the happiest invitation suite and day of paper items with our friends at Magnificent Milestones that incorporated a bright floral envelope liner and rose gold foil.  We used the same color palette and fonts for the programs, escort cards, take home gifts, and hotel welcome boxes.

Brandy’s bridesmaids carried the most beautiful, textural bouquets that featured a variety of blooms and foliage that popped against the burgundy dresses.  We repeated this organic and elegant theme in the floral and decor at the ceremony and reception. Stems designed the most gorgeous chuppah with draping, lush floral and foliage and dramatic uplights – the perfect setting to say “I do!”

It was a perfect day for Brandy and Brian captured beautifully by Averyhouse Photography and we hope you enjoy!

Jessica and Spencer: The Ivy Room

We are so excited to share Jessica and Spencer’s fall wedding on our blog! I met Jessica and Spencer one year before the big day and instantly connected with their vision and style. These two have been together for over 10 years and the highly anticipated affair did not disappoint!

Jessica and Spencer chose the stunning Ivy Room for their ceremony and reception. The venues neutral tones and versatility gave us the flexibility to truly portray Jessica and Spencer’s style and personality. We created a California-inspired celebration as a way to incorporate Jessica’s hometown at a Chicago wedding!

Jessica and Spencer said ” I do” in front of the gorgeous ivy-covered wall outside in the courtyard. HMR Designs framed the couple with a sheer ivory draping hung from the juliet balcony. After an intimate ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres before making their way inside for dinner and dancing.

The ballroom table tops featured trailing foliage and textural floral arrangements with pops of color including corals, blush, and greens. Large weathered wooden rings adorned with greenery and pillar candles were suspended from the ceiling to create a romantic candlelit garden ambience.

After a fantastic three-course meal by Lettuce Entertain You, guests enjoyed mini desserts at the sweets table and dancing the night away with Entourage Band.

We are so happy to have been a part of this beautiful day and wish Jessica and Spencer many years of love and happiness!

Katrina and Michael: The School of Art Institute Ballroom

I met Katrina and Michael one year before their wedding. They are the sweetest couple and we had so much fun through out the planning process. Katrina and Michael selected St. Michaels Church for their ceremony and the School of Art Institute Ballroom for their reception.

The wedding day began with hair and make up at the Palmer House hotel. Everyone was all smiles in preparation for the big day. Katrina looked timeless in her wedding gown that was designed and made by her own mother!

Kehoe Designs provided gorgeous floral and decor for this special occasion. Katrina carried a classic, tailored bouquet of ivory roses and peonies. The bridesmaids held bouquets with textural floral in shades of ivory, nude, and pale blush that accented their soft pink Two Birds Bridesmaid dresses perfectly.

Similar floral adorned the guest tables at the reception. We featured two different centerpiece designs; one consisted of a collection of ivory, white, and pale blush floral intermixed among champagne-colored mercury glass and tall cylindrical containers with floating candles and the other displayed a lush low arrangement consisting of peonies, garden roses, and ranunculus.

Guests were greeted with two speciality cocktails – a “his” and “hers”. The “his” cocktail was bourbon whiskey, apple cider, and old fashioned bitters – the perfect fall drink – and the “hers” cocktail was a refreshing Pear Martini with St. Germain elderflower liquor.

Food for Thought Catering provided a fantastic meal of Striped Seabass and Slow Roasted Hanger Steak and to top off the evening, we passed beignets and chocolate milk for a late night snack on the dance floor.

It was a perfect day from start to finish! Special thanks to Olivia Leigh and Poetic Productions for capturing all of these special moments.

Halsey and Doug: The Woman’s Athletic Club

I had the pleasure of meeting Halsey and Doug one year before their winter wedding. I immediately connected with their style and vision for the wedding day. Halsey and Doug live in New York so all of the plans came together with just a few trips to Chicago. Halsey and Doug met in college and dated for 10 years before Doug popped the question!

Halsey grew up in Chicago and her family have been members of the Woman’s Athletic Club for many years so it was the perfect location for both their ceremony and reception. We embraced the upcoming holiday season through all aspects of the wedding plans, including the red and green color scheme, the custom laurel wreath accented on all paper items, and the festive ornament favors.

We transformed the club’s Drawing Room to a warm winter ceremony setting with boxwood garlands, mahogany chairs, and pillar candles filled with rose petals and winter berries. It was the perfect romantic setting for Halsey and Doug to say ” I do”. As guests entered the ballroom for dinner and dancing, they were greeted with a glass of sparkling rose and enjoyed tunes by Greenlight Band. Guests enjoyed a fabulous meal by the Woman’s Athletic Club before dancing and celebrating the night away!

We had so much fun working with Halsey and Doug and wish them many years of love and happiness!

Brittany and Martin: Cafe Brauer

Brittany and Martin hired me a year and a half before their big day. They’re both lawyers and knew they would need a longer engagement to plan around their busy schedules. We kicked off planning with a brainstorming session at Brittany’s home. We had a blast browsing her Pinterest page and looking through all of the inspiration photos she’d gathered. After our initial meeting, it was clear what Brittany and Martin wanted for their wedding day. With that, we began planning right away!

Brittany and Martin selected Covenant Presbyterian Church in Bucktown for their ceremony and the historic Cafe Brauer for their reception. The gorgeous building sits right in Lincoln Park and offers beautiful views of the city. It perfectly fit Brittany’s rustic and elegant style.

The wedding took place on a perfect fall day. Brittany and her bridesmaids got ready at the Public Hotel. They took a break from the pampering to watch a video that Martin had created with footage from their entire relationship. The sweetest surprise for his bride that certainly brought tears to Brittany’s eyes!

Before the ceremony, we orchestrated a “first look” for Brittany and her father—one of my favorite moments of any wedding day! After the couple said, “I do” in Bucktown, they hopped on a trolley to take city photos with their wedding party and families.

Kelley and Zach: The Peninsula Chicago

When I first met Kelley and her Mother, Janice, I was greeted with homemade cookies and I knew it was a match made in heaven. As I learned more about Kelley’s wedding vision filled with candle lit tables adorned with clean whites and warm champagne tones, we were well on our journey to creating her dream day!

Their black tie wedding combined two families and two religions, creating a truly unique and personalized wedding day that all took place in the luxurious The Peninsula Chicago.  The Peninsula served as the perfect space for Kelley & Zach’s first look, ceremony and reception. Kelley & Zach currently live in Baltimore, so to have their cocktail hour looking over Michigan Avenue and a clear view of The John Hancock was a Chicago treat!

Incorporating calla lilies into the florals was another personalized and important detail to Kelley’s wedding vision. Kelley’s mother, Janice, carried calla lilies on her wedding day and Kelley’s bouquet was mirrored after Janice’s. The chuppah and table’s centerpieces, all created by Joshua Jones of Kehoe, highlighted the statement flower as well.

Emily and Frank: The Drake Hotel

Working with Emily, Frank, and their families was an absolute blast! Emily was one of the most excited brides I have ever worked with which made the planning process so enjoyable. She had a clear vision of what she wanted for her wedding day and we had so much fun bringing that to life!

Emily and Frank selected St. Paul of the Cross in Park Ridge for their ceremony and the stunning Grand Ballroom at the Drake Hotel for their reception. We chose a color scheme of blush and navy that graced everything from the paper items to the floral. Magnificent Milestones designed a beautiful custom laurel monogram design that appeared on the programs, table numbers, cocktail napkins, and even the seafood ice sculpture display at cocktail hour!

We worked with Kehoe Designs to create Emily’s vision of nautical – but elegant for the decor. Bouquets were full of peonies, dahlias, and ranunculus wrapped with a navy and white stripped ribbon which popped beautifully against the bridesmaids lace & navy dresses. Guests entered the reception to an elaborate manzanita tree with hanging votives and a floral base – a fabulous first impression!

We alternated between two centerpiece designs for the guest tables in the ballroom. The first design featured navy and white striped lamps with a collection of monochromatic arrangements featuring dahlias, roses, and ranunculus in soft whites, blushes, and pinks. The second design featured a trio of floating candles accented with floral and mercury glass votives. To complete the look, we used silver beaded charger plates topped with a navy blue napkin. In addition to the gorgeous centerpieces, we created a chic and cozy lounge for guests to enjoy while taking a break from the dance floor.

Guests enjoyed a fabulous meal of surf and turf followed by a decadent sweets table and wedding cake before dancing the night away to the music of Final Say.

It was a perfect wedding day for Emily and Frank and we wish them a lifetime of love & happiness!

Liz and Sean: Chicago Botanic Garden

It was a true pleasure to work with Liz and Sean! We met one year before the big day and jump started the planning right away. It was no surprise that they selected the beautiful Chicago Botanic Garden for their ceremony and reception. Liz and Sean spent many dates at the garden prior to getting engaged so as soon as Sean popped the question – they had no doubt where they wanted this special occasion to be!

Despite the downpours through out the wedding day, there was so much love and excitement.  To compliment the gardens, we chose a bright and airy color scheme of coral, orange, white, and navy blue which were present everywhere from the paper items to the floral.

The ceremony took place in McGinley Pavillion overlooking the beautiful water and landscape. The look on Sean’s face as Elizabeth walked down the aisle was priceless and a moment I will never forget! After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the English Walled Garden while we transitioned the Pavillion from ceremony to dinner.

Place cards were displayed on a bed of floral and the guest tables were adorned with navy blue linens, coral napkins, and bright peonies, hydrangea, stock, and roses – the perfect setting for a summer wedding!

Guests enjoyed a fabulous meal while watching the sunset before Connexion Band had everyone up and dancing the night away. It was a perfect day for Liz and Sean and we wish them many, many years of love & happiness!

Nicole & Brian: The InterContinental Chicago

Nicole & Brian’s happiness throughout the planning process was truly contagious. I absolutely adored them and all the special touches they put into their wedding making their day unique to them. While I learned many things about them through our meetings and conversations, one reoccurring topic that repeatedly came up was their love for pizza.  This came to life in their American food station during cocktail hour at the Intercontinental Hotel that overlooked the bustling Michigan Avenue. It also popped up again for their late night sweets from Sweet Mandy B’s that were not only adorned with pizza cupcake toppers but also presented in a pizza box from where one of their first dates took place. We also had to mention different types of pizza to keep the bride from happy crying as the day went on! But enough about pizza, their day was the epitome of a little slice of heaven.

Both Brian and Nicole got ready at the Intercontinental Hotel surrounded by the family and bridal party. Bridesmaids sipped on champagne and chatted the morning away until Nicole transcended down the suite’s stairs in a stunning Amsale gown.
