In honor of our 2nd anniversary, I thought I would share my own wedding on our blog!
We had the best day celebrating with our family and friends. John and I knew right away that we wanted a Chicago wedding. Since we are both from the same home town, this may have been a surprise to our family and friends, however, we were really looking for an experience for our guests and to have our special day in our favorite city!
There are so many incredible reception locations in the city, but we knew The Chicago History Museum was the perfect venue for us. We fell in love with the beautiful chandelier in the Robinson Gallery, the history surrounding the space, the beautiful and elegant Chicago Room with black and white tile, and the stunning outdoor plaza. Plus, with so many out of town guests, it was the perfect location to show off the city that we both love!
After our ceremony at St. Clement Church, our guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on the outdoor plaza of the museum while listening to music from John Sabal, a guitarist from Stitely Entertainment. They were then escorted to the Chicago Room for dinner in which the tables were assigned with classic Chicago inspired name cards. After a fabulous meal by Food for Thought catering, our guests enjoyed dancing the night away. The evening was topped off with Lou Malnati’s pizza and Chicago style hot-dogs!
I am so grateful for our amazing vendors and special thanks to LK Events for allowing me to truly enjoy my own wedding day! We were so fortunate to have all of our family and friends with us to celebrate and are so thankful for our parents support and the effort they put in to making our special day one we will never forget!
