Colleen and John’s May 16th wedding was the perfect start to the season! The day began with hair and make up at Colleen’s parents home in River Forest. Everyone was calm and relaxed enjoying the warm weather on the outdoor patio. Colleen was glowing when Erin with Revel Decor delivered the most beautiful bouquets full of lush open peonies and the most adorable babies breath flower crowns for the four flower girls.
The bridesmaids wore gorgeous light blue long dresses and carried light pink peony bouquets. Colleen looked stunning in her strapless Vera Wang gown and gold Manolo Blahnik heels. To top of the look, she had the most stunning veil embroidered with floral lace.
The ceremony took place at St. Luke’s Church in River Forest – the same church Colleen attended growing up. The front steps were accented with a duo of lovely, soft olive green foliage, white blooms and accents of babies breath, brilliant white roses and soft clusters of hydrangea.
Clusters of olive toned greenery and soft white floral including peonies, hydrangea, mums, and roses hung from each of the pews.
The ceremony was lead by family friend which made it such a personal celebration for all. Colleen and John said their “I-do’s” and recessed down the aisle to bagpipes.
After the ceremony, guests made their way to Butterfield Country Club and enjoyed speciality cocktails including “hers” – prosecco and raspberry and “his” – vodka stone sours on the beautiful veranda overlooking the golf greens. Personalized koozies, matchbooks, and cocktail napkins were displayed on the bars for that extra special touch. Guests also enjoyed the fabulous sushi station and passed hors d’oeuvres. Despite the weather predictions, the sun came out just in time for photos on the golf course.
Adorable paper details including escort cards, instagram signs, thank you cards, table numbers, and sweets table signage were displayed through out the space. Before entering the ballroom, guests stopped by the stunning place card table. The table was covered in unique candle presentations in various shapes and sizes, which included clear glass, gold candlesticks, floating and pillar. A bold floral statement full of rich white hydrangea, white roses, white peonies and tucks of gold seeded eucalyptus was displayed in the center of the candlelight.
Revel Decor designed two different centerpieces to offer a nice variance among the tables. One half of the tables featured a rich clear glass statement with a hurricane filled with pillar candlelight highlighting the center of the table. At the edges, three compositions of white hydrangea, roses, and peonies along with wisps of gold eucalyptus were artfully arranged amongst the flickering votives in antique gold containers.
The second design was a low arrangement composed of similar white florals with a trio of stemmed floating candlelight at varying heights framing the edges. A garland composed of botanicals accented the back of the bride and groom’s chairs.
After a delicious meal, guests enjoyed an elaborate sweets display including chocolate covered strawberries, oreo shooters, mini cheese cakes and assorted cookies to name a few. High Society Orchestra had everyone up and dancing the night away.
The evening concluded with McDonald’s burgers and fries late night. It was a perfect wedding day for Colleen & John and we wish them many years of love & happiness!
